If you want updates on our posts, DON’T like us on Facebook
If you haven’t already heard, recently Facebook changed their algorithms again. This time, the change is related to what you get to see (or not see) on your Facebook news feed.
In a nutshell, if you ‘liked’ Rational Comics on Facebook, you are probably part of the 90% of fans who don’t see our updates.
This change has caused a bit of a ruckus over the Internet. Leaving webmasters scratching their heads over what to do. Some people aren’t too happy about this, but it’s Facebook’s website and it can do whatever it wants.
So what can you do to stay updated?
We have two solutions.
First, you need to know that there is a flip size to the changes. The new algorithm prioritises your Facebook friend’s posts over those from pages.
So, to take advantage of this, our mascot, Euphrons, has graciously decided to pitch in. Euphrons has created his own Facebook profile. Now, you can add him as a friend and he will share Rational Comics posts as soon as they come out. This way, you are more likely to see the posts on your feed. (Note that he is only going post our updates. Posts found on our other social media pages, like links to good articles, won’t be shared by him.)
The second option is to subscribe to us directly. Just confirm your email and you are set. With email, you are defiantly going to see our updates. No pesky algorithms are going to get in the way. Plus, all subscribers get a free printable poster.
That’s it. Be Euphrons’ friend, or subscribe to us, or both. It’s your pick.
